By purchasing from Cackling Creek Farmstead you agree that you have read and understand the following:

Hatching Eggs:

*We DO NOT Guarantee Hatch Rates. Many things can affect hatch rates including but not limited to: Handling during shipping, Temperature, Humidity, Your incubator Etc. Fertility is checked weekly and we will not send eggs from pens where there is a fertility issue. Eggs can be fertile and not develop due to handling by the shipping carrier. Damaged air sacs can also happen during transit. We only ship the same fresh eggs that we put into our own incubators. All eggs are collected, candled, stored pointy side down at room temperature within 2-3 days prior to shipping.

*If the eggs show up broken you will need to send a photo of the eggs and the damage done. We will gladly do a ONE time replacement or refund as long as YOU PAY SHIPPING for the replacement eggs. We will not refund or replace the eggs if there are no pictures taken of the eggs, packaging and box upon arrival. We will also not refund or replace after the ONE time refund.

*Shipping is INCLUDED in the price of the hatching eggs. Prices are subject to change depending on carrier shipping prices

*Our default carrier is UPS. We ship the eggs 2 day air. They get delivered straight to your home! We’ve had great success using UPS. If you prefer USPS there will be an additional charge for Express shipping.

*Hatching egg orders ship out Monday or Tuesday. If we are not able to ship out your order for the original date we gave you, we will reach out to schedule the next available option. Once shipped, the eggs will arrive in 2 business days.

*Please keep in mind we are at the mercy of the ladies (hens). We fill orders as they are received and when there are plenty of eggs to fulfill the order.

*If interested in current wait times before ordering please contact us directly. You can make a note with your order about dates that you prefer your hatching eggs to ship, but we cannot guarantee that your order will be fulfilled in the time frame noted based on many factors such as: Weather, Orders that were placed before your order, Fertility/Hatch rates and the hens not laying enough. If there are no notes in regard to a preferred shipping week then we assume any week is acceptable and will contact you via email 2 weeks prior to when we plan to ship your hatching eggs.

Order Cancellation

(Hatching eggs):

*If your order has not shipped and you need to cancel your order, you will receive a refund for 50% of your total amount of your purchase.

Day Old Chicks:

*UPDATE - December 2025*

Shipping fees have been changed based on the prices of USPS going up. USPS has now added an additional 15$ LIVE ANIMAL fee to all shipments. This year we have removed our shipping material fee (25$) and have integrated it into a flat rate shipping fee to cover all expenses that go into shipping chicks/pullets.

10 count of day old chick shipping: 100$

11-35 count day old chick shipping: 120$

4-6 count Pullet shipping (per box): 110$

*A minimum of 10 chicks is required to ship. A maximum of 35 day old chicks is available. If you purchase 35 chicks it needs to be a variety of all the breeds we offer.

*A Minimum of 4 pullets is required to ship. A maximum of 6 should fit in one box. If you order more than 6 you will have to pay an additional shipping fee.

*A minimum of 5 chicks is required for Local Pickup.

*We do NOT vaccinate our birds.

* All chicks are sold Straight Run (Unsexed) with the exception of our Bielefelder chicks which are an auto-sexing breed.

*We do NOT ship Poults. Local Pick Up Only!

*We set eggs specifically for the orders we receive. We do NOT have chicks readily available to ship out daily. 

*Once Chicks, Pullets or Poults leave our property their health and care are no longer our responsibility. NO REFUNDS will be given for any birds that suddenly take a turn for the worst once they get to their new home. Due to being a very small hatchery we are not able to refund for any birds that might be DOA (dead on arrival- shipping) or pass away once they’ve been in your care.

*Day old chick orders ship out Monday or Tuesday. If we are not able to ship out your order for the date you chose, we will reach out to schedule the next available option. Once shipped, the chicks typically arrive in 1-3 business days.

Order Cancellation

(Day Old Chicks, Pullets and Poults):

*We do NOT issue refunds if you decide to cancel your order. The ONLY time we will issue a refund is if we are unable to complete your order within 30 days of the Delivery Week you originally chose for your order. So before purchasing be 100% sure you want to purchase chicks, pullets or poults because once you have paid for your order and you decide to cancel it - YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED
